In this course you will be introduced to fundamentals of modern networking technologies and protocols to an overview of the communications Media. You will be introduced to computer networks in terms of a five-layer model, understand all the standard protocols involved with TCP/IP communications, learn networking Hardware and Software, communication protocols, and understand Data Transmission and communication software.

Instructor Short Bio

Ibrahim Mohamud is the director of ICT Department at the National Communications Authority of Somalia. He has been in academia for five years, teaching, supervising and mentoring ICT students in local universities. With over a ten years’ experience in the ICT field assuming different capacities and roles at both private and public sectors, Mr. Mohamud’s research interests are in the emerging technologies and advancing the use of technology in all aspects of life by all types of people across the world.
